Sports centre management: access control, payments and bookings in one place
A sports centre’s day-to-day is built on many critical functions. Here’s how Thril brings their management together in one system.
ThoughtsA sports centre's day-to-day is built on many critical moments, but the most important are surely that a customer can easily book a slot or sign up for a class, get in smoothly and pay for their session quickly. When these things can be managed easily and clearly from one place, unnecessary work doesn't pile up for staff.
Why bring access control, payments and bookings together?
Each of these three is a critical step in the customer journey. The customer books a slot, pays for it and walks through the door. When every step works effortlessly and without friction, the customer comes back — and staff can focus on other essential work. When each of these travels a separate route on the business side, the potential for errors grows along the way.
Access control and lighting: the doors know who's expected
Thril's own Thrilock is an access control system that can be installed affordably in almost any space. Each booking gets its own code, members can have a permanent code and a recurring booking works with one code for the entire series. When a membership ends or an invoice goes unpaid, access is removed automatically and restored the moment payment arrives. Every door opening is logged.
Lighting works the same way with Thril's own Thrilight. Lights come on before each booking and go off afterwards. Lights only burn where people are moving.
If a venue already has its own hardware, there's no need to replace it — Thril integrates with numerous popular systems, such as:
- Rollock
- iLOQ
- QT Systems
- Megaflex
- Kulku.io
- Tolotech
- Digiovi
- Pindora
- Fisafe
Payments: one transaction, all payment methods
In Thril, bookings can be paid for immediately when making them, directly in the Thril app or browser version. With Thril's own POS system, payments can also be handled on-site with a person if preferred — covering card and cash payments, use of employee benefits and credits, and invoicing.
Employee benefits are a reason many people choose a sports venue, which is why Thril supports Epassi, Edenred, Zevoy and most recently Wolt Benefits. This way customers can use their sports benefits directly when making a booking, with no need for email confirmations or phone calls.
Bookings: a calendar that fills itself
The booking calendar is the step of the three that the customer sees, which is why it needs to work in real time and respond to what the customer wants.
A player is happy when booking a slot is possible independently, at any time and from anywhere. And the calendar needs to update instantly.
With Thril's features you make sure enthusiasts are always in the loop. Push notifications let suitable players know when a slot becomes available, so slots fill themselves. Automations make sure your customers are always notified when a booked slot is coming up. And with open bookings, you can bring together customers looking for someone to exercise with.
As a welcome bonus for players, a Live Activity card appears on iOS users' lock screens an hour before a booking starts, automatically showing the venue, space, time and door code — without even needing to unlock the phone.
This is how Thril brings together the functions that matter most for a sports centre.
