A calendar blocker closes a resource from sale for a chosen time, for example for maintenance or a private event, once or on a recurring basis. Some blockers are created automatically: events, courses and tournaments reserve their courts, and a booking in a shared space closes the overlapping resources. A slot put up for sale shows in the calendar with its own "slot for sale" marker. It doesn't lock the time, though: staff can book over it and a customer can buy it.
